Loveless Manga Volume 2 The Volume of the Absolute Toy Master
First chapter – We get more insight into Soubi’s life. He is in his apartment with Kio Kaidou, his friend (who we briefly met in Volume 1) painting butterflies. Soubi wears butterflies (his earrings) but he actually does not like them. Also, it is so obvious (not subtle at all) that Kio likes Soubi and it appears as if Soubi enjoys teasing Kio a bit. It’s quite a funny relationship the two have.
(Back to Ritsuka) It is morning time and Ritsuka mom is going ballistic, again! And her husband is doing nothing to stop her from attacking and beating Ritsuka (he actually just leaves for work). Because of his injuries Ritsuka arrives late to school and discovers that Yuiko was picked on for bring jam for him to school. He doesn’t like this and he stands up for her. Hitomi Shinonome, the teacher, arrives and puts an end to the ruckus. She sits with Yuiko and Ritsuka for a while but Ritsuka quickly get up to leave. Yuiko is left there with Shinonome and confesses that she would die for Ritsuka. Shinonome surmises that Yuiko loves Ritsuka.
When Ritsuka arrives home he finds Breathless waiting for him. They take him some place to talk. They inform him that they are leaving (they no longer have orders to capture him). But another fighter unit is on the way.
After meeting with Breathless, he returns home to find Soubi talking with his teacher. He’s telling her how he isn’t into older women (she only 23 years old). Ritsuka, slightly embarrassed by Soubi’s actions, demands that Soubi apologize to her. He does but she is so embarrass and runs off.
Another pair has arrived looking for Ritsuka
Second chapter – Breathless leaves town to return to their place of origin as they do they sense the presence of the other fighter unit. Outside of Ritsuka house Soubi also senses the second pair and together they run to the pair. They quickly arrive and are challenged to a fight. Instantly both scarifies are injured and Ritsuka is restrained. It is very painful for him but he commands Soubi to continue because the Sleepless pair said they have the answers to his questions in an envelope and the only way they’ll give it to him is if he and Soubi defeat them.
Third chapter – Ritsuka and Soubi are heavily restricted (chains and straps everywhere). Breathless believes they have Soubi and are inches away from winning but that is not so. Soubi is way to powerful for them and he easily destroys the restraints which causes server damage to the Breathless team. Soubi gets the envelope and gives it to Ritsuka. He opens it and it is a piece of paper with a series of numbers and letter (he doesn’t get it).
They return back to Ritsuka’s house where Ritsuka ask Soubi about the principal that Breathless had mentioned during the fight. Soubi refuses to answer this question, ever. Then Ritsuka demands that he leave immediately.
Breathless are in the field recovering when they hear the voices of the next fighter unit taunting them about their lost to Soubi.
Fifth chapter – At school Ritsuka excuses himself from participating in school activities in order to attend his weekly appointment at the hospital. During his doctor’s visit he reveals to Katsuko that he thinks a lot about life and how he will disappear when the “real” Ritsuka returns.
Meanwhile, Shinonome buys treats to take to Ritsuka’s house (as a friendly gift as she meets with his parents. It’s in an effort to help him). But she encounters a pair of fighters who easily enslave here which prevents her from moving.
Fifth chapter – Soubi arrives and places Shinonome under a sleeping spell and the Zero challenges Soubi to a battle. He accepts without Ritsuka (being there without his sacrifice halves his powers and since he is going against his name “Beloved” his powers are once again halved). The battle begins and the Zeros are fast.
Ritsuka on the other hand has just finished up with his Wednesday session.
Story Detour =>The story takes a slight detour which is headed by Kio Kaido. In the Summer ½ Follow You: It follows Kio as he tags alone with Soubi who is secretly following Ritsuka, who is out making memories with Yuiko and Yayoi at Yokohama (as he had promised to do in the last volume).
In the Summer 2/2 Standby Me: Soubi finally approaches Ritsuka (it’s so not a coincidence that he happened to be at the same place as Ritsuka) and he and Kio join in on the fun (Soubi’s treat).
